Snow and ice management in Iowa City
Iowa City and Coralville have heavy foot traffic from students, hospital staff and shoppers, so sidewalks and entrances matter as much as parking lots. We plan each site so walkways are treated as carefully as drive lanes.
Stockstell has run commercial snow operations across the Midwest since 2017. Our equipment includes plow trucks with salters, wheel loaders and dump trucks, backed by a network of about 45 regional crews.

- Churches and community buildings
- HOAs and townhome communities
How our service works
We start with a site walk and map your lots, drive lanes, sidewalks, entrances and snow stacking areas. Then we agree on a trigger: zero-tolerance for any accumulation, or a set depth such as 1 or 2 inches.
Choose seasonal pricing for a fixed winter cost or per-event pricing where you pay per plow or salt visit. Every visit is documented with dates and times.

Frequently asked questions
Do you service student housing properties?
Yes. We plow lots and clear sidewalks, stairs and entrances for apartment and student housing properties across Iowa City, Coralville and North Liberty.
What's the difference between zero-tolerance and trigger service?
Zero-tolerance means we respond to any accumulation, including light snow and ice. Trigger service starts once snowfall reaches a set depth, such as 2 inches. Zero-tolerance costs more but lowers slip-and-fall risk.
When should we sign for the season?
September through early November, before seasonal routes fill up and the first storm arrives. That leaves time for a site walk and for marking curbs and islands.
Can you cover multiple locations?
Yes. We service multi-site portfolios across Iowa, Missouri, Nebraska, Kansas and Indiana with one point of contact and one invoice.
